On this eight-hour, guided tour, you will travel from Baku to visit Gobustan and the Absheron Peninsula for an opportunity to experience history, culture and the uniqueness of Azerbaijan’s landscape.
In Gobustan, you will visit the popular mud volcanoes and an open-air museum that exhibits rock carvings and paintings, the origins of which can be traced to as far back as the Upper Paleolithic period. Then, you will stop at a restaurant where you will be served traditional Azerbaijani cuisine for lunch at your own expense.
Afterwards, you will head to the Absheron Peninsula to visit the ancient Zoroastrian temple of Ateshgah and the awe-inspiring natural wonder that is Yanar Dag, which translates to burning mountain. Throughout the tour, you will hear remarkable facts about the sites and learn more about Azerbaijan's past.
